Maintaining your horsebox should be simple and worry-free. We offer a range of services to help keep your horsebox on the road and ready when you need it.

GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT AND PAYLOAD ASSESSMENT

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) are now carrying out Gross Vehicle Weight inspections on horseboxes. In 2014 the DVSA reported that over 40% of the horseboxes weighed were overloaded e.g. the payload was too high for the vehicle. This is very concerning as an overloaded vehicle may invalidate your insurance, be illegal to drive and be unsafe.

If you are concerned that your horsebox may be overweight, we advise you to locate a local public weighbridge (see www.gov.uk/find-weighbridge) where you can weigh your horsebox for a small fee.

If your vehicle is overweight, we may be able to help without you replacing your horsebox. Please feel free to contact us and we’ll assess and discuss your options to see whether your existing vehicle can be “uprated” to increase the Gross Vehicle Weight and in turn improve Payload capacity.

SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE

As specialists in horseboxes, we understand the need to keep not only the vehicle well maintained but also the horsebox body and equipment so it’s ready for action when you need it. We offer a broad range of services including: -

Lubrication – engine oil, filter and oil coolers
Filtration - air and pollen filters
Braking – brakes discs, pads and wear sensors
Suspension – springs, dampers, suspension arms, ball joints and bushes
Steering – steering rack and track rod ends
Heating and cooling – heater matrix, air-con system, condensers
Lighting – bulbs, front and rear lamps, internal lights
Electrical – battery, alternator, glow plugs, spark plugs, relays, fuses, switches and sensors
Locks – keys, remotes, immobilisers
MOT testing and Plating
Horsebox body and equipment inspections eg. horsebox floor, walls, bulkhead, doors, roof, etc.

SERVICING

Whilst an MOT gives you peace of mind that your vehicle is roadworthy the inspection does not assess the condition of the body of the horsebox. Our Horsebox Health Check is a free of charge inspection that assesses the condition of your horsebox body and fittings. You'll be notified of any areas of concern along with a quotation to repair or replace the item so you can decide what to do.

ACCIDENT REPAIR

Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are accidents happen. We can repair all types of damage from cosmetic scuffs and scrapes to more significant structural damage.

As expert builders of horseboxes, we possess the knowledge and skills to restore your horsebox to pre-accident condition.

The damage to your horsebox will be professionally assessed and we will liaise with the owner, insurance or accident management company to ensure the repair is carried out correctly and you get your vehicle back on the road without unnecessary lengthy delays.

All repairs are backed by our 12 months warranty.

REFURBISHMENT AND RE-LIVERY

Horseboxes can lead a tough life and over time your paintwork may be showing signs of inevitable wear and tear. Or perhaps you are just bored with the colour and fancy a change without replacing your horsebox.

Our in-house paint shop can give your horsebox a new lease of life. We offer a wide range of colours from a single colour solid colour to complex multi-colour metallic options.

Vinyl decals are also a popular option to personalise a horsebox to make it stand out or be seen at night.

Prices vary depending the design you choose, we are happy to discuss your options and produce a quotation for the work to be carried out.
